The Benton Museum of Art at Pomona College, Identity, Signage, and Collateral
The Benton Museum of Art at Pomona College serves as both a teaching museum for university students and a meeting ground between the university and its surrounding context. With the opening of a new building Designed by Machado Silvetti Associates and Gensler in 2020, the brand for the museum needed to represent a new phase for the organization, which not only plays host to a growing permanent collection but also intends to highlight experimental contemporary artists with rotating exhibitions.
The main lock-up used for the identity presents a professional face of the logo type. While a playful asset of a sloping and geometric “B”in the signature citron green as well as a decorative halftone pattern for backgrounds provided in the logo tool kit—to reflect the experimental mission of this teaching museum.
